Our Journey to the Ocean
"The history of Korea's offshore wind is ENGSOFT's track record."
ENGSOFT has been a 'First Mover' in every site, from Korea's first commercial offshore wind farm to Asia's largest scale complex. Our technology has been proven in rough waves and evolved by passing strict global standards.
Jeju Hallim Offshore Wind Farm
"The Foundation : Laying the groundwork for Korea's offshore wind control system."
Jeju Hallim Offshore Wind Farm was the first stage where ENGSOFT's technology was proven in the actual sea. By transferring onshore construction management know-how to offshore, we completed the prototype of 'Korean OCMS' optimized for domestic sites.
Project Overview
| Location: | Offshore Suwon-ri, Hallim-eup, Jeju-si |
| Scale: | 100MW (5.56MW x 18기) |
| Client: | Hyundai E&C |
| Status: | Completed (Development and OCMS operation complete) |
The Challenge
- Stable offshore communication and worker safety management are top priorities due to rapidly changing weather conditions and high waves in Jeju sea.
- Existing foreign S/W failed to reflect Korean report formats or subcontracting management structures, leading to high site dissatisfaction.
Our Solution
- Korean Standard Interface: Built an easy-to-use system with UI/UX tailored to domestic construction company processes.
- IoT Safety Integration: Secured offshore construction safety through real-time location tracking using beacons and IoT sensors.
Result
• Minimize Potential Risks: Drastically reduced site risk factors with real-time monitoring and advance warning systems.
• Data Centralization: Laid the foundation for advancement by accumulating weather/operation data suitable for domestic offshore environments.
Jeonnam (JN1) Offshore Wind Farm
"The Global Standard : Process innovation meeting global expectations."
The Jeonnam Jaeun project was a time of leaping forward, elevating OCMS to international standard levels through collaboration with global leaders (CIP/SK E&S).
Project Overview
| Location: | Offshore Jaeun-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeonnam |
| Scale: | 99MW (9.9MW x 10기) |
| Partners: | SK E&S, CIP (Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners) |
| Status: | Completed (Development and OCMS operation complete) |
The Challenge
- Need to satisfy European partner (CIP)'s offshore construction HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) regulations.
- Resolving language barriers in a multinational work environment mixing English and Korean.
Our Solution
- Global Process Adoption: Implemented European safety management processes such as PTW(WA) and Induction.
- Bilingual System: Real-time switching between Korean/English and applied international standard data formats.
Result
• Global Partnership Alignment: Completed a system meeting international standards through technical collaboration with global partners.
• Process Optimization: Shortened administrative hours and established a continuous response system by digitizing permit/approval procedures.
Yeonggwang Nakwol Offshore Wind Farm
"The Mega Scale : The Digital Twin control tower moving Korea's largest complex."
As the largest single complex in Korea, the Yeonggwang Nakwol project is the culmination of OCMS technology. It goes beyond simple control to the completion of the 3rd generation OCMS, applied with IoT integration and data-driven automation technology.
Project Overview
| Location: | Offshore Anma-do/Songi-do, Nakwol-myeon, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeonnam |
| Scale: | 365MW (5.7MW x 64기) - Massive Scale |
| Partners: | Myungwoon, Samhae E&C |
| Status: | Ongoing (In progress / 2024~) |
The Challenge
- Foreseen 'offshore traffic congestion' and process interference due to simultaneous installation of 64 turbines.
- Extreme complexity that cannot be controlled with simple monitoring.
Our Solution
- SIMOPS Risk Logic: Predict simultaneous work interference and secure offshore work areas by granting work priority.
- Smart Progress Visualization: Maximize process management efficiency by real-time visualizing the construction status of 64 turbines.
Future Impact
• Schedule Optimization: Reduce waiting costs and meet target deadlines by optimizing the movement routes of offshore vessels.
• Digital Turnover: Automatically digitize the construction history of 64 turbines to accelerate completion approval and handover procedures.
